Due to the very heavy rain in central Vietnam, there are many cities and towns that included Hoi An are flooded.
Thursday evening flood update.
The community warnings via the loud speakers in town, have again put the town on flood alert and are warning of fast moving currents and up to 2 meters of flood water (40cms up from last night). High tide is at 22:01.
Hotels and homestays in low-lying areas began evacuations this afternoon and many are trying to contact guests due for arrival over the next few days to cancel bookings.
If you are one of those heading to Hoi An, call your hotel directly to check everything is ok (it’s a busy time and emails will likely go unanswered). Stay dry!
